                      The development of  STEM PCK by teachers especially science teachers is vital for qualified
                                          E+
               teaching. Teachers’ knowledge has 3 core components. The dimension of the “technology” is integrated
               in the professional development of the science teacher with TPCK.  Nowadays, STEM PCK includes

               dimensions of “science and technology” as well as “engineering and math”.  Furthermore, the dimension
               of “environment” should be integrated in the STEM PCK to raise awareness on the importance and

               protection of the environment. In this way, while teachers are providing STEM education based on the

               environment in science class,  the  ideas  and/or  products  that the students  might  put  forth should be
               environmental friendly, renewable and recycled.


               Conclusions and Recommendations


                      E+ STEM  education  comprises  5  (environment,  science,  technology,  engineering  and  math)
               disciplines that are integrated and the environment is core concept in  STEM Education. Although

               E+ STEM  education  is  more  specific  than  STEM  education,  its  framework  may  be  expanded  by
                                                                                                E+
               integrating environment into STEM education. One of the most significant targets of  STEM Education
               is to reduce the negative affect of humans on the Universe. Also, with  STEM education, the number
                                                                                    E+
               of students who have knowledge and skills for protecting the Universe might be increased. Therefore,
               E+ STEM activities should be included in the curriculums in schools.


                      Teacher education is key for qualified STEM teaching, therefore, E+STEM and PCK should be

               integrated in teacher education system and professional development.  STEM PCK can be used to
               enhance the skills of teachers for classroom activities. Also,  STEM PCK may help science teachers

               transform  knowledge  into  hand  on  activities  more  effectively.  To  sum  up,  STEM  education  and
               E+ STEM  PCK  should  take  part  in  both  teacher  education  and  teachers’  professional  development

               programs.
