Abstract
This theoretical study aims to develop a new theoretical model for
contemporary science education. Based on recommendations of the European Commission
STEM should be integrated into educational reforms and teacher education. This paper
describes a framework of Environmental Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematic

( STEM) education and STEM pedagogical content knowledge, which have increased in
importance with COVID-19 epidemic. This study focus on theoretical concepts and good

practices relating to the COVID-19 epidemic in STEM education and pedagogical content
knowledge. The framework of STEM education builds on two core educational approaches:

environmental education and STEM education. In respect to teacher education, a model for the
promotion of STEM pedagogical content knowledge is discussed and described in detail. It
E+
consists of three core components: environmental content, environmental STEM and pedagogy.
Finally, E+ STEM education and pedagogical content knowledge play critical role in science
education and teachers’ professional development.
