Sosyal Medya Kullanımı ve Maruz Kalınan İçeriklerin Çocukların Psikolojilerine Etkileri

Özet

Günümüzde teknoloji alanında meydana gelen her türlü gelişme insanların hayatlarını doğrudan etki-
lemektedir. Özellikle son yıllarda internet kullanımının artmaya başlamasıyla birlikte birçok sosyal medya
platformu kurulmuş olup bu platformlara erişim ise her geçen gün daha kolay hale gelmiştir. Birçok içe-
riğin bulunduğu bu paylaşım ortamı, yetişkinlerin olduğu kadar çocukların da ilgisini çekmekte ve sunduğu
imkanlarla çocukları sanal gerçeklik ortamında zaman geçirmeye teşvik etmektedir.
Bu çalışmada çocukların sosyal medya kullanımının psikolojileri üzerindeki etkileri araştırılmıştır. Bu
amaç doğrultusunda 15 yetişkin bireyden veri toplanmıştır. Elde edilen veriler Maxqda 20 paket progra-
mında analiz edilerek çeşitli kod ve alt kodlara ulaşılmıştır. Sonuçlar incelendiğinde sosyal medyanın ço-
cukların ebeveynleriyle olan ilişkisinden, duygu, düşünce ve davranışlarına kadar pek çok açıdan çocukları
olumsuz yönde etkilediği sonucuna ulaşılmıştır.
Bu sonuçlar göz önüne bulundurulduğunda çocukların olumsuz tutum ve davranışlarının önüne geçi-
lebilmesi ve gelişim dönemlerine uygun olacak şekilde sürecin yönetilebilmesi için, ebeveynlere önerilerde
bulunulmuş ve çalışma sonlandırılmıştır. Yapılan bu çalışma çocukların sosyal medyayı bilinçsiz kullanımı
sonucu meydana gelebilecek sorunları ortaya koyar nitelikte olması açısından önem arz etmektedir.

Social Media Use and Content Exposure Effects on Children’s Psychology

Abstract

Today, all kinds of developments in the field of technology directly affect people’s lives. Especially in
recent years, with the increase in internet usage, many social media platforms have been established and
access to these platforms has become easier day by day. This sharing environment with many content
attracts the attention of children as well as adults and encourages children to spend time in virtual reality
with the opportunities it offers. In this study, the effects of children’s social media use on their psychology
were investigated. For this purpose, data were collected from 15 adult individuals.
The obtained data were analyzed in Maxqda 20 package program and various codes and subcodes
were reached. When the results were examined, it was concluded that social media negatively affected
children in many ways, from the relationship of children with their parents to their emotions, thoughts
and behaviors.
Considering these results, suggestions were made to parents in order to prevent negative attitudes
and behaviors of children and to manage the process in accordance with their developmental period, and
the study was terminated. This study is important in terms of revealing the problems that may occur as
a result of children’s unconscious use of social media.
